| *gene pengz* it's a chill out place at Sentosa. i chanced upon this on da radio.. & via recommendations from local journalists....let me give u some background info... Café del Mar is a chill out bar by the sea, originated from San Antonio, Ibiza. A popular summer tourist destination noted for its view of the local sunset in San Antonio, Café del Mar is the original "the sunset bar" in San Antonio. The translation into English for Café del Mar is "Sea Cafe". The idea is a simple one, you sit by the shores of the bay in San Antonio and admire the stunning sunsets to a backdrop of ambient and eclectic music provided by the DJ in the bar. The beauty of the place lies in the simplicity of the entire experience...the pleasure one indulges in when at Cafe Del Mar.. the perfect combination of scenery, beautiful weather and the wonderfully chilled music, makes every sunset a special one. Even now, after 20+ years on the island of San Anotnio(founded in 1980), many people are still awed by the silence which descends on the bar as the sun reluctantly gives up its last rays, before vanishing below the horizon. And this brilliant chill out idea has been materialised and is brought to our shores in Dec'06. There are no hassles involved. just a chill out idea for a quick getaway from da busy streets of SIN..slow down our pace of life for a while & just rot, drink, eat & be merry with wonderful company..

| Hi Gene, very precise info, except that the concept of Cafe del Mar materialized again not just in Dec 06.... In Europe Cafe Del Mar has been super hip for the past few years liao.... Still, am glad that this concept has finally arrived SIN. I really keen to go, but when I think of transport i sian liao.... If you plan for event, keep me informed... I will pong chang! |
