Salsa Saturday At Upper Club

Hi ppl,
Saw a new place to dance on saturdays and maybe can go try it out
It is at Upper Club ( 30 Victoris street, #02-01A, CHIJMES)
Salsa Saturday( Tea Dance 2.30pm to 6.30pm / Night fever 8.30pm to 2am) on alt sats ( Oct 28, Nov 11, 25, Dec 9, 23, 30)
Think there is a cover charge of $20 per person ( incl 2 soft drinks or 1 house pour)

There is another one at River Valley Road.

Salsa Ladies Nite @ Cheekys
262/264 River Valley road
Every Thursdays 7pm till 3am

Liquid Buffet for Ladies
- Vodka, Gin, Bourbon, Rum and Whisky

More places if you guys get tired of Union! =)

Hard Rock Cafe ( Near Forum ) is Thursdays from 9pm onwards.
There are Salsa Workshops by Suman from door to floor b4 the floor is opened at 9pm.
I think $12 cover charge inclusive 1 drink if not wrong.

Brix (basement of Hyatt Hotel - Orchard )
Sundays 9pm onwards. Think just buy a drink can liao.

Fuego (Club Street - No.5 Gemmill Lane )
Live Band (Salsa) every Weds/Thurs from 630pm to 8pm. No cover charge.
from 6pm to 2am
Happy Hours from 6pm to 9pm ( I think got 1 for 1 drinks )

Just to clarify. Suman holds a free Salsa workshop at Hard Rock Cafe only on the last thur of every month.

8.00 - 8.45pm - Beginner workshop
8.45 - 9.30pm - Intermediate workshop

I used to be from DoortoFloor and taught by Suman. He teaches simple new techniques during the workshop and can be used immediately at the dance floor. Very useful.

However, the atmosphere at HRC is not as warm as Union square. Union square still the best salsa club around.

If you guys want to know, Upper Club is quite a posh place. Guys, no casual attire. Only pants and long-sleeve shirt if I remember correctly.

My school, TwoLeftFeet had a party there sometime before. The floor was big, but that was because they removed the tables for dining. The floor is parquet and extremely slippery. Girls would have a lot of fun spinning on it, but control and balance is a slight issue because you may end up spinning more than you want.

Oh no!!!! I need to buy shirts and pants now!!!

For ladies, something a little more formal than casual is a safe bet.
Try to avoid denim materials ... most of them usually get frowned upon as being too casual....

A dress, skirt, or dress pants should be quite ok.
